These catch the big particles, but can actually let the smaller particles slip right by. In addition, studies have shown that micro-organisms can actually start growing on the dirt that is collecting on a standard filter. These filters have no effect on chemicals or toxins.

Electronic air cleaners are effective at reducing particulates in the air, but must be cleaned frequently for maximum efficiency. These air cleaners have no effect on micro-organisms, chemicals or toxins.

Ultraviolet lights can be effective on micro-organisms, chemical and toxins, but must be placed in a position where they can effectively irradiate micro-organisms.
