What is Radiant Floor Heating?
Radiant floor heating is a system which uses either hot water or electricity embedded in the floor for the purposes of heating. A hot water system heats your floors by tubes embedded in the floor, which hot water runs through on a consistent basis. The electric systems are similar in principle but use electric cables instead of tubing. Depending on the existing construction, one option may be better than the other, and we will review these options with you.
Efficiencies with Radiant Floor Heating
Home comfort of course is one of the most critical components when it comes to your choosing the system. The benefits of radiant floor heating is the way the way heat is produced. Heating the floor is a very energy efficient way to go, as heat rises from the ground up, and you will not have the same “draft” feeling that may exist from traditional heating systems, which primarily heat the air and blow the air throughout the home. In the sense of how this works, objects – floor and furniture – are being heated and it provides a more even heat throughout – as well as energy savings of up to 35%.
