Air conditioning systems can stop working for many different reasons. Our technicians diagnose and repair problems with central air conditioners, ductless mini-splits, and heat pumps.
AC Isn't Cooling
If your air conditioner is running but your home isn't getting cooler, the cause could be a refrigerant problem, electrical component failure, restricted airflow, a compressor issue, or another system problem. We'll diagnose the cause rather than simply treating the symptom.
AC Won't Turn On
A system that won't start can have a problem with the thermostat, capacitor, contactor, wiring, control board, or another electrical component. We'll test the system to determine what's preventing it from operating.
AC Is Freezing Up
A frozen evaporator coil can result from restricted airflow, a refrigerant problem, or a blower motor that's not moving enough air. Simply thawing the coil doesn't solve the underlying problem. We'll determine why it's freezing and recommend the appropriate repair.
AC Is Leaking Water
Water around your indoor air handler can indicate a clogged condensate drain or another drainage problem. Algae and other buildup can restrict the drain and cause a safety switch to shut the system down. We can clear the drain, clean the pan, and check that the condensate system is working properly.
AC Is Making Strange Noises
Grinding, rattling, buzzing, or squealing can indicate a problem with a fan motor, compressor, electrical component, or another part of the system. Unusual sounds are worth having checked before a relatively small problem becomes a larger repair.
AC Is Short-Cycling
If your air conditioner repeatedly starts and stops instead of completing a normal cooling cycle, something isn't working as it should. A thermostat problem, airflow restriction, electrical issue, or other equipment problem can contribute to short cycling. Our technicians can diagnose the cause.
