Why is my heat pump blowing cool air when it’s supposed to be heating?

This scenario has several potential causes, including refrigerant problems, restricted airflow, or problems with the system’s reversing operation. A professional diagnosis can determine what, if anything, is actually malfunctioning.

Why is my heat pump system freezing up?

If there is ice on the outdoor unit, you might have restricted airflow, a drainage problem, or refrigerant issues. A small amount of frost is normal, due to the condensation produced during cooling, but excessive or persistent ice warrants a call to the team at Aire Serv of Pasadena !

What is that strange noise my heat pump is making?

When running efficiently, heat pumps shouldn’t make any sounds that create concern. Grinding, rattling, buzzing, clicking, or anything unusually loud might be happening due to a mechanical or electrical problem. Contact us to check out your system rather than ignoring these signs!

Can I avoid needing repairs by keeping up with service?

With regular maintenance, we can identify any developing problems and ensure all components are in good condition. We can’t guarantee you’ll avoid every possible failure, but our tune-up service can reduce the chances of a breakdown by 75%.

How do I know whether my heat pump needs to be repaired or replaced?

You should consider the system’s age, efficiency, and frequency of repairs to start. If you are repeatedly repairing older equipment, a replacement service might be more cost-effective.

We Keep Local Heat Pumps Running

We are proud to offer comprehensive heat pump repair services to address a variety of issues!

If your heat pump system is struggling to keep up with the temperature you set, our HVAC repair professionals will diagnose and resolve whatever is affecting the unit’s ability to regulate temperature effectively. Uneven heating or cooling could indicate an airflow or thermostat issue, not necessarily a problem with the heat pump itself. We are licensed and trained to work on all types of HVAC equipment, so we’ll have no trouble locating the source of your system’s performance problems!
Excessive moisture is another symptom that should be addressed quickly by a local heat pump repair team. A drip or pooling liquid might be water from excess condensation/poor drainage, or leaking refrigerant - an essential component for cooling function. Low refrigerant levels can hinder a heat pump’s efficiency, so this isn’t something you should wave off. Our experts can identify and repair any refrigerant leaks and get your heat pump system back to optimal performance. If you encounter a leak or a full system failure, our 24-hour customer service is available for urgent appointment scheduling.
Some issues are relatively obvious, such as a leak or strange odor, but others can involve electrical components, sensors, the compressor, controls, or other parts of the system you can’t observe from the outside, and those issues should be handled by a professional HVAC repair specialist. Get in touch with us anytime you need a proper diagnosis or inspection of your heat pump system.
