The two gentlemen that came to my house were very professional. They checked everything very carefully and found that the previous company had left the Freon valves just finger tight and the Freon leaked out. They are my heating and cooling company from now on. They also did not charge a service call because I used them to fix the problem. Just a little side note for the Astros fans out there, Arthur certainly looks like Justin Verlander

A neighbor who had had a new system installed by Aire Serv recomended me to use them after I inquired about having my old unit serviced for maintenance (I hadnt done it in 4 years!).They said that they were very satisfied with their new unit and the follow up service that they gave it twice a year. So I called and made an appointment. A few weeks later, I received a reminder call a day before my appointment that the tech would be there. So I made plans to anticipate him at a certain hour the next day. The technician Roy arrived promptly. He was friendly and easy going. I showed him in so that he could see the evaporator. He opened the compartment door, and immediately noticed that the fans and motor were dirty. He recommended an eventual cleaning job. Then he moved on to see at which temperature the air was coming from the vents. He noticed that it was not too cold. So he asked to see the Condenser, which happened to be on the roof. I showed him and went up with him. Upon inspection he quickly saw that the capacitor was not conducing enough voltage. It was old and rusty. So he made an immediate recommendation to change it, so that there would be enough power to blow cold air. He gave me the cost up front and I agreed. He went to his car, grabbed the part and installed it in no time. We went down, he checked the vent temperature and showed me the difference in temperature. He told me that the recommended cleaning of the evaporator motor and fans was not too urgent, but that I should make an appointment to have it done in a few months. He introduced me to a membership that would offer me bi-anual maintenance servicing. I agreed to get it and he produced the bill for services rendered. I was very happy and relieved to see my total, because I was looking into the possibility of having to replace my entire unit which was installed in the early 90s, as Roy told me. He said that it would eventually have to be replaced, but that we could buy it some time so that I could prepare for that expense. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service that I have received. It has been a fun experience to watch Roy do his job, assist him whenever needed, have all my questions answered and become a little more educated on the inside workings of my home. I will be scheduling my cleaning soon and I look forward to speaking to the service desk operators and to see Roy again in action. I have some peace of mind in knowing that I have an honest, professional and reliable company to call on in case of one of those eventual AC malfunctions that are so common in the Texas heat.
