We will not skip the load calculation. Grabbing whatever tonnage matches the old unit is how oversized systems get installed, and oversized systems in this climate produce a house that is cold and clammy for the next fifteen years. The calculation adds very little time, and it is the single most consequential decision in the job.
We will not skip the duct evaluation. If your ducts are the reason the old system struggled, new equipment inherits that. We measure static pressure and tell you, even if the correction has to happen later.
We will not use urgency as a closing tool. You get the repair option, the replacement options, and the reasoning. If a competitor gave you a number and it is better, we will tell you if it looks reasonable.
We will not condemn a system that is repairable. A technician telling you at 9 pm that everything must be replaced, with no repair number offered, is a signal worth noticing regardless of who they work for.
How We Move Quickly Without Cutting Corners
Assessment and quote in the same visit. We do load calculations, duct evaluation, and equipment options while we are there.
Equipment availability, honestly stated. Common residential tonnages and configurations are generally available quickly. Specific brands, high-efficiency and variable-capacity models, and coastal-rated equipment can take longer. We will tell you what is available now and what is worth waiting for, rather than pretending everything is in stock.
Temporary measures in the meantime. Where there is a gap between decision and installation, we address how you get through it.
Permitting handled by us. Emergency replacement still requires permitting and inspection in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. A contractor offering to skip it to move faster is transferring their risk to you and creating a problem that surfaces when you sell the house.
Financing options presented up front. Approval, rates, and terms are determined by the lender based on your credit profile, subject to credit approval. Not all applicants qualify. See our financing page.
What Emergency Conditions Actually Change
Scheduling and crew availability. During a heat wave or the week after a storm, every company in both counties is oversubscribed at once. Anyone promising you same-day installation during those windows is telling you what you want to hear.
Equipment selection may narrow. If you need cooling restored in 48 hours, your options are what is available in 48 hours. That is a real constraint, and we will state it plainly rather than steering you to whatever we happen to have while calling it a recommendation.
What does not change: sizing, installation quality, permitting, commissioning, and warranty registration. Those take the time they take, and skipping them to save a few hours produces a system you dislike for a decade.
Storm and Flood Replacement
Do not run a submerged unit. Saltwater and floodwater intrusion into the compressor and controls causes failures that may not appear for weeks, by which point connecting them to the storm for an insurance claim is much harder.
Documentation before disposal. We photograph and document equipment condition before removal, because once the old unit is gone, so is the evidence. This is routine for us, and it matters more than most homeowners realize at the time.
Elevation gets corrected on replacement. If the property flooded, reinstalling at the same height repeats the outcome. Much of the coastal territory is in AE or VE flood zones, and elevation is part of the design rather than an upgrade.
Expect volume. After a significant storm event, replacement demand across both counties spikes simultaneously and equipment availability tightens regionally.
The Better Version of This
The cheapest emergency replacement is the one that happens in October.
If your system barely made it through last summer, if you have been quoted a compressor on aging equipment, or if a maintenance visit flagged a coil that is corroding through, that is information telling you the decision is coming. Making it in shoulder season means equipment availability, open scheduling, and time to compare rather than deciding in a hot house.
Deferring a known-failing system into peak demand is consistently the most expensive option, and it is the one we are most often called to execute.
