Should I Replace My AC and Furnace With a Heat Pump?

Replacing an aging air conditioner and furnace with a heat pump often makes sense in Central Florida, where one system can handle both cooling and mild winter heating. The switch can simplify maintenance and reduce the equipment in your home. Your technician will evaluate your ductwork, electrical service, and heating needs during a free in-home estimate before recommending a system.

Is a Heat Pump a Good Choice for Homes in Central Florida?

A heat pump is a strong choice for Central Florida homes because it provides efficient cooling during long summers and efficient heating during mild winters. Heat pumps move heat rather than generating it, which uses less electricity than electric resistance heating. Backup heat strips handle the few nights each year when temperatures drop near freezing.

What Does SEER2 Mean When Choosing a Heat Pump?

SEER2 is a rating that measures a heat pump's cooling efficiency under updated federal testing standards, and a higher number means lower operating costs. Heat pumps also carry an HSPF2 rating for heating efficiency. Your technician can compare the ratings of different models and explain how each would affect your energy use.

How Long Does a Heat Pump Last?

A heat pump typically lasts 10 to 15 years, depending on installation quality, maintenance, and workload. In Florida, heat pumps provide both heating and cooling, so they log operating hours nearly year-round. Twice-yearly professional maintenance helps the equipment reach the upper end of that range.

why Homeowners in The Villages Choose Us for Heat Pump Installation

Accurate sizing, honest pricing, and payment flexibility for a system you use year-round.

Every heat pump estimate from Aire Serv of The Villages is performed in person and at no charge. Your technician completes a heat gain and heat loss evaluation to size the system for your home's square footage, insulation, windows, and sun exposure. In The Villages, a correctly sized heat pump runs long enough to pull humidity out of the air in summer and still keeps up on the coldest winter mornings. The same evaluation shows whether your existing ductwork can handle the new system or needs adjustments first.
Financing is available on heat pump installation and replacement, so you can choose a higher-efficiency system without paying the full cost at once. We run local special offers on new systems, and service discounts are available for seniors, veterans, military members, first responders, and teachers. Your technician will review financing and any current offers during your free estimate. Seeing the installed price and payment options side by side makes it easier to compare standard and high-efficiency models.
Same-day service is available, so a heat pump that fails in the morning can be evaluated that day. Calls are answered 24/7 by a live representative, and weekday appointments run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If your technician finds the current system is still repairable, the $99 diagnostic fee is waived when you approve the repair, giving you an honest choice between repair and replacement. Every installation is backed by a warranty and the Neighborly Done Right Promise®, and we are a fully insured, locally owned business.

How We Install a Heat Pump in The Villages

Heat pump installation with Aire Serv of The Villages begins with the in-home evaluation, where your technician measures heating and cooling loads, inspects the ductwork, and confirms the electrical service can support the new system. On installation day, floors and work areas are protected first. The old outdoor unit and indoor air handler are disconnected, and refrigerant is recovered according to EPA rules. The new heat pump is set on a level pad, the air handler is connected to your ductwork, and refrigerant lines are brazed, pressure tested, and evacuated before charging. Your technician connects the thermostat, confirms the backup heat strips operate correctly, and tests the system in heating, cooling, and defrost modes. Before leaving, we walk you through thermostat settings and filter care and review your warranty and the Neighborly Done Right Promise®.
