Humidifiers / Dehumidifiers

Your Utility Bills Should Be Comfortable Too.

Humidity is bad enough outdoors, but it could be unbearable if it is indoors. On the other hand, a climate that is too dry can be just as unpleasant. Most experts say that humidity levels should stay between 35% and 50% for ideal comfort. Indoors, humidity levels should actually range from about 45% to 50% in order to avoid microbes and other damaging effects, including damage to your home’s wooden fixtures.

The proper humidity level can be achieved with just a little planning and help from our team at Aire Serv®. We can help you experience better air quality and an ideal climate indoors by installing humidifiers / dehumidifiers or repairing and maintaining those you currently own. With the right equipment, we can help you achieve within 1% of your personal ideal humidity level. We encourage you to speak with our experts so you can breathe easy again!

How Can Humidifiers / Dehumidifiers Create a Healthier Environment?

Dehumidifiers can reduce excess moisture, while humidifiers combat dryness. There are several reasons why maintaining proper humidity levels at home is important to your overall health and well-being.

With the right humidity levels, you’ll be able to help avoid:

  • Dry, flaky, and itchy skin
  • Sore throats
  • Dry sinuses
  • Warped wood
  • Microbes, fungi, and mildew in the environment
  • Viruses
  • Respiratory infections
  • Dust mites
  • Check your air filters. You should check your AC unit’s air filter every month. If the filter is dirty, you should either clean or replace it. Not changing your air filter can result in it becoming clogged. This will not only restrict air flow throughout your home, it will also result in your AC working much harder than it should, which causes unnecessary wear and tear on the equipment and increases your energy costs.

  • Clean the equipment. Make sure to clean the individual components of your air conditioner regularly to avoid grime, dirt, and other obstructions from decreasing its efficiency. Use a shop vacuum to clear the dirt and dust around the AC and ducts.

  • Keep the area around the unit clear. Make sure nothing is obstructing the exterior of your air conditioner. You should keep your bushes trimmed back and make sure no other plants or other greenery grow too close.
